Description: Small batch release. Traditional and non chill filtered. Traditionally crafted & “vatted†with a real heather honey & highland character. The Original Timorous Beastie®, immortalised in Robert Burn’s famous Scots poem “To a Mouse”, was a timid, little field mouse. Echoing our national bard’s wit, ours is most certainly not for the fainthearted! This non chill-filtered “vatted malt” is a marriage of appropriately aged and selected highland malts – including, amongst others, those distilled at Blair Athol, Glen Garioch, Dalmore and Glengoyne distilleries. Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie® small batch release is a brimful of flavour with a honey Spiced character and a piquancy to relish… This little mouse ensures quality reigns supreme! Our Timorous Beastie® is overridingly sweet initially on the nose, then warms to floral, light barley and spicy honey’d tones. The palate opens in a spicy style – now fructiferous, mellow, sugary and raisin-fudge-y in style. The finish is subtle yet sweet – detect a soft cough drop camphor / oaky hint plus milky cereals, and late meringue. Established in 1948, our family owned company is please to offer you this rather old fashioned – certainly traditional – style of an all highland blend of (only) malts. It suitably reflects the subtlety of the regions’ distilleries, which we hope you enjoy Fred Laing Director of Malts, Manufacturer: Douglas Laing & Co Ltd, Glasgow, G3 6EQ., Additional Information: Standard Drinks 26 approx.
